Turbo charger

With a turbo charger, high torques - and consequently higher engine output - should be attained. This occurs by means of the compression of the inducted air. Thanks to the increased density, more oxygen can get into the engine’s combustion chamber during each intake stroke. Improved combustion is possible with the higher oxygen content – output rises. The thermal and kinetic energy of the engine exhaust gas are used to propel the turbo charger’s exhaust gas turbine.

The exhaust gas turbine runs the compressor. This compresses the inducted air, causing it to heat up. It is cooled back down in the intercooler.
